Do you think that conquerers have the right to the territory they have successfully gained dominance over or do you believe that states have a right to maintain their territorial integrity even if they cannot defend it by their own power?

Well its a significant issue in international law. Since the general view of the "international community" has shifted from "right of conquest" to "territorial integrity" there has been a tendency to invade temporarily to achieve specific goals then withdraw rather than to take territory and directly control it.
